Easter 2018: Easter Monday

Easter Monday is often the best day of the whole weekend. I’m lucky enough to generally have the day after Easter off work, which means not going home until Tuesday – after the vast majority of people, and avoiding the traffic snarls that often greet you coming back into Sydney.

The weather was back to it’s spectacular self, so we decided to do the Rainbow Lake walk, which is a short amble of about 3km return off the Perisher Road near Sponar’s Chalet. On it’s own, Rainbow Lake isn’t the most arduous of walks, but once we reached the picturesque body of water – a man-made lake, supplying the nearby chalet – we headed up the valley, where there was no trail, finding out way as best we could through the scrub – and we were rewarded with some great views of the distant ranges.

Is it next Easter yet?
