Easter 2016: Rainbow Lake Hike

Rainbow Lake is one of the easier walks in the NSW Snowy Mountains. It’s fairly flat, won’t take you very long – perhaps 30 minutes from the trail head on the Perisher Road just up from Sponar’s Chalet – and the lake itself is a very spectacular place.

But if you’re like my family and friends, you’re always looking for something more. On this occasion, that ‘something more’ was a suggestion from my dad that we cut up through the scrub that parallels the track, explore a bit, and eventually end up back at the Kosciusko Road, at or near the carpark. Seemed like a decent idea at the time…
