I witnessed my first ever IndyCar night race on the last weekend in August at Gateway Motorsports Park outside of St Louis, Missouri.
Aside from the brutally-hot race-day weather, I couldn’t have asked for much more from the weekend, which was capped off by Australia’s Will Power driving to Victory Lane. Hanging out in the garage and pits and even the broadcast booth meant I took some pretty awesome photos (humble brag?), some of which are below.
The IndyCar fan experience is second to none. The way they look after you, as a race-going customer, is unbelievable. What other racing series in the world can you buy a ticket and wander amongst the garage and pit lane for around $25? The access is incredible, the drivers always willing to have a chat…and being amongst the action, especially close to race time, is brilliant.
