A Chicago Winter (January 2009)

Nearly a year and a half before I met any of the friends I now travel to Chicago to visit, I was crisscrossing America from New York City to Los Angeles by train.I had my first Amtrak experience in early January 2009, taking the Lakeshore Limited from NYC to Chicago and I had planned a stop of a few days so I could see the Windy City. Turned out, sightseeing opportunities were somewhat limited for all but the last morning of my trip, because of a massive snowstorm.

I continued my journey west on Amtrak’s California Zephyr, which is another post for another time.
