There ain’t no bar
On the edge of town
Ain’t no guitar
With a lonely sound
There ain’t no band
Playing that song
About some girl
That’s been gone too long
There ain’t no trucks in Texas
Ain’t no football in the south
Aint no bourbon in Kentucky
And I ain’t drinkin’ me some now
Ain’t no stars in California
Memphis never had the blues
Oh, there ain’t no trucks in Texas
And I ain’t missin’ you

Started my morning with a 5km run through the local neighbourhood. The weather has been cool in the morning, perfect for exercise, before warming up towards the middle of the day.
Went over to the Great Clips at Danada Plaza to get my haircut, before driving to the nearby Blackwell Forest Preserve, which is one of many reserves, parks and other green spaces that make the Wheaton-Naperville-Lombard area so pleasant to hang out in. In summer, anyway – Chicagoland winters don’t interest me one little bit. It’s been fun this trip getting to go walking at some of these places that I’ve seen in passing but never, for one reason or another, got to go to.

After a 5km loop over Mt Hoy (where the views are spectacular and where and around the edge of the preserve, we ate lunch on the patio at Arrowhead Golf Club, where we normally tend to go drinking at night with people. Perfect day for al fresco dining. I enjoyed a jumbo shrimp scampi washed down by a glass of Bud Light.
Quiet afternoon and evening. Finally finished the last of our Giordano’s deep dish pizza. Watched “Predators” with Adrian Brody. Early night – off to Detroit tomorrow for the IndyCar race on the downtown streets of that city.
